I have been sitting here for a while, trying to figure out what to write about this year.
This has been a big year for me.
It was that time that came right after the University spit me out into "the real world". It was a time when the Twilight books revealed themselves to me. It was a time when I debated moving back to Orlando, but ultimately decided to try a place that I did not know. It was a time that I visited a job fair and found a company that I really liked, which eventually became my place of employment. It was a time for essentially leaving the nest again. It was a time to realize just how much the postal service can make you crazy. It was that time when I had to make decisions that would affect my future. It was a time when I watched almost every episode of One Tree Hill and fell in love with the characters. It was that time when I drove back and forth to Charlotte so many times for job leads or visits that I really don't even have to use the GPS any more. It was a time when I realized that I could make a famous blogger scream for joy. It was that time when I took a big chance and moved to a foreign land, which became home. It was a time that I worked hard to stop buying green clothes because my entire closet looked seasick. It was that time when I had to make new friends. It was a time that Gossip Girl because a bit of an obsession with me. It was that time when I had to hike up and down stairs to pee and hope that people weren't in the shower when I needed to use it. It was that time when a church that I love with people I adore came into my life. It was a time when I could finally buy a size smaller in Old Navy jeans. It was that time when I realized just how much I adore my best friend. It was a time when I went to my first fiber festival and had an amazing time. It was a time to meet my mother's favorite author. It was a time when I discovered sweet tea vodka. It was a time when I sorta quit knitting for a bit, but have recently come back into it. It was a time when I watched a lot of TV and found a few new shows that I adore. It was a time to discover that you are never too old to go on vacation with your parents. It was a time when my love for singing resurfaced after I joined a choir. It was a time when I virtually ignored my blog. It was a time when I started reading again. It was a time when I got a laptop and realized just how much I love surfing the net in bed. It was a time when 90210 came back to TV and quickly made it's way onto my DVR. It was the time when a bunch of friends from my past made their way back into my life, through Facebook or MySpace. It was the time when I realized I was singing in a choir with an author that I have read for years. It was the time that I realized how much I detest dressing up for work each and every day. It was a time that I discovered the love of flannel sheets. It was a time when I met Armistead Maupin, an author who helped shape my life. It was a time when I discovered Jon Foreman, a singer whose voice makes me happy. It was a time to see one of my favorite TV shows on the big screen. It was a time when a great friend came into my life by dragging a washer and dryer through my new apartment complex. It was a time when I was proud to have graduated from the University of Alabama and was happy to say Roll Tide. It was a time when I went through a few different hair colors before deciding to return to my natural color. It was a time when I realized that getting locked in scary bathrooms is NOT fun . It was a time when I bought my first tuxedo. It was a time that made me realize that I was too old to have eight apple martinis in one evening.
It was a time when I finally started becoming a person that I recognize and have wanted to become again.
It was a time that was really awesome.
It was a year, good or bad.
And here's to another one filled with just as much stuff...
Happy New Year.
Stay tuned...

You have had quite the year! I hope 2009 is the best year yet for you!

Well, this was just nice. Really nice. I loved checking out the things I didn't know about. I'd still be a little careful about that Alabama thing though. Some of us Georgia Tech fans are a bit touchy about the ole Tide.

I was thinking about you off & on the past week - it was this time last year when I did a lot of back-blog reading & felt like I really got to know you. I know we don't chat as often, but when we do, it's like a big warm hug and I always smile. I'm glad you stretched your wings and took a chance on flying in a new direction this year. I hope 2009 brings you more wonderful new experiences, joy, wisdom, and, of course, yarn. :) Happy New Year, J.P.!
