I'm scared to even look at how long it has been since I last blogged. I'm sure that it has been months. Y'all are probably totally tired of Imaginary Bitches by now.
Life has just been moving too fast. I guess that you could say I have been living instead of blogging. Trust me when I say that my life has taken a complete turn and is a lot different since the last blog entry.
In a good way. A very good one, actually.
I don't really know where to start, so I guess I will just plunge in and go for it. So here goes...
Let me start by saying that I have not knit a stitch in a few months. I think my knitting mojo moved to Arizona or something. If you see it, please send it home.
Charlotte is still amazing! I have fallen even further in love with the city. Moving here was by far one of the better decisions that I have made in my life. The friends that I have made since I moved are the family that I wanted. The last few months have been a nice time because I have been out enjoying the city. I have been taking the time to really learn the city. Experiencing it.
My choir is going well. We had a very nice concert in Washington, DC a few weeks ago. We shared the stage with a local choir from there. They were really nice guys and the trip was a really good one full of wonderful surprises. Then, the following weekend, we performed with them in Charlotte. I had a solo during this concert. It was not a singing solo, but one that I performed lines. Luckily, it went well and I did not flub, fall or forget anything. I really enjoy singing with this choir.
One thing that I experienced was an evening of speed dating back in January. A friend was organizing it and I decided to go. If you have never experienced speed dating, do it. It was one of the oddest things I have ever done, but it was so much fun. Essentially, what we did was have five minutes to talk to each of the 'daters'. Some of the five minute periods were quicker than others. A particular one flew and the five minute time periods was over before I had a chance to blink.
At the end, you pick the daters that you would like to be matched with. If you put a person down and they put you, then you got their name and contact info in an envelope. There was one particular dater whose name I wanted to see in my envelope. I rushed out the door and ripped open the envelope as soon as I got into my car. I had been repeating the name of my favorite dater over and over in the hopes of seeing it. I saw it and was ecstatic.
Needless to say, that was the beginning of the end.
Adam and I have been dating for almost 2 months now. Let me just say that I am head over heels for him. It's just the weirdest thing to go from nothing for years to having "a better half". He is truly amazing and is making my life so much better.
So... my secret is out. I have been busy with a boy and that has made me not being the blogger that I want. Or the knitter, I guess.
All in all, life is really good now. He and I are heading into the mountains of NC in the morning and visiting the Biltmore estate on the way. I should have tons of great pics to share soon.
I think that my blogging mojo is back, so I plan on dusting off the old blog and moving back in.
Stay tuned...
